I will be doing a week long bow hunting trip in alberta from Sept 1st - 7th. I have 1 total set of scent lok but I don't think that will be enough for my trip. I will be bunting from a stand/blind. What do you guys use for long trips? Do you pack 5-6 sets of clothing? Thank you.

When it comes to hunting clothing, I always think of my grandpa. He and his friends never needed any fancy clothing and they will likely end up shooting more deer then I ever will. I'm not knocking scent lock, I'm just saying don't over think it. Have you thought of changing into your scent lock just before you get in/out of the stand? How about a cheapo pair of coveralls over your scent lock wile riding in the truck or atv to the stand?

I change into the scent lok once I leave the vehicle then walk to my stand. I can't see scent lok working for a week with out it being reactivated at some point. So I am wondering what people do.

All this scent control and clothing is ok until the first time you fart. Learn to mind the wind. Sometimes the wind is not in your favor, there is nothing you can do about it other than to move to a new spot. I'm a smoker, I fill all my deer tags every year.

Scent locking clothing is a marketing scam. You cannot fool a deer's nose with some carbon and plastic in your clothing. Don't worry about it, and save your money by not buying any more.

DO worry about controlling where your scent goes.

I smoke too. while hunting smell of camp fire, cigarettes, and the last meal I ate. prolly haven't had a proper shower in a few days. even if \I did have a shower, then I would smell like soap and shampoo, which again is an un-natural smell in the wild. The thing I have found is that deer notice movement and sound.
Truck engines turning off, door chimers binging when you get out, truck doors closing, coughing.. these are things you will see turn their head to investigate.
Sitting still and watching the deer come out of the tree line is the best bet. If you walk toward them, they are gone.
I remember when everyone used to dress like a lumber jack back when I was a kid. Everyone got their tags filled, and nobody had camo/ scent block clothing.

I would agree that the scent lock stuff is not needed. Ever since we enclosed our blinds (which hides movement) we have seen more deer.

Once in Michigan (where gun hunting is not allowed from elevated stands, so everyone sits on the ground) I was sitting with my back up against a pine tree, a bunch of branches piled up around me, plus the boughs hanging down low covered me pretty good, and a bunch of does came out and 2 walked right up to where I was, 1 was so close I tried to smack it in the ass with a stick, that's when it jumped....same trip different ground blind had a non-legal length buck (less than 3" spike) walk right past me while sitting on the ground in an oak grove. He never noticed me at all. Another doe stood about 20 yds away and stomped her feet & snorted at me trying to get me to move, when I didn't move she just sauntered on by.
