I am looking for a very powerful round for my Ranch Hand I plan to be using this as my out in the bush gun as I can't carry a real hand gun. I want a round that will have one heck of a punch... Maybe around packed for modern firearms not the more popular under packed rounds that most Colt rounds are.

I do know that with the 12'' barrel I will get greater barrel speed but I would like to get to the 1200 FPS line or closer to it then what it is now.

What brands of loads have been best for you people...

Yep. 45 colt factory loads are anemic in Canada.

I have loaded up "rifle" level rounds that shot very well out of a RH..... not past 20 yards, mind you...

I'd consider some Hornady Critical Duty... Full power hollow point with 99% weight retention they say.

Before anyone flames me I'm not incredibly familiar with all the .45 acp rounds but from what I found those Critical Duty rounds seem pretty decent.

As said above. You'd have to reload as 45colt leaves the barrel under 900fps. Or you could do what I did and trade it for a Ranch Hand in .44mag and have a real bush gun

I checked the Bullet Barn to see if they had any loaded ammo that might work but they only sell cowboy loads for 45 colt. I guess it's what sells and also does double duty as liability protection.
The 45 colt ranch hand action is identical to the 44 mag one but with a bigger bore and chamber. It should be able to handle at least 44 mag level pressure of 36k psi.
The Hodgdon website lists 45 colt loads for Ruger, Freedom Arms, and T/C Contender only that would work. They reach 30k psi based on their data. Of course, as said above, you'll have to handload.

I know there is a place that sells 320 gr buffalo rounds for the Ruger at some crazy 34k psi. But I lost the website and now I can.t find them. I thought they were out of Regina but I think that is not right as I can't find a hit for them.

I did a LOT of searching on this, and ended up developing my own load with a (IIRC) 330 gr hard cast that leaves the barrel at just under 1400fps. No pressure signs on case.
I based this load on info from handloads.com, realguns.com, and Linebaugh's. The Rossi '92 action is very strong, as others have mentioned. I believe I even read that it is stronger than the '94 Winchester action - but don't quote me on that.
