There is a fellow selling this as a collector unrefurb with an original stock, and a black "chrome" bayo. I have tried to tell him it is a refurb but he claims to be a collector and have 60 pages of data and info that this is an original with a black "chrome" bayo that he claims to have has a metalurgist tell him it was just that. I call BS. Thoughts?



His ad on a Facebook gun selling site:

For sale immaculate, collectable, Simonov Russian SKS 1952r Tula, unissued, not a refurbished. Laminate stock. Almost too gorgeous to fire. Bayonet is black chrome, not painted. Round count = 10 and accessories, strap and two ammo pouches, cleaning kit.

52 is too old for a laminated stock originally, they didn't start using them until a few years later so thats an obvious lie.

You should report this guy to the admin or something, hes clearly trying to rip someone off.
 
also, he said the magazine holds 10. not a legal Canadian import if it's not pinned to 5.

the seller is misinformed and trying to claim a top dollar amount i'd bet.
 
As I was talking he tried to tell me that he already had 6 offers. I offered him $220 max and he said he already had an offer at $350. I told him good luck on his sale and unfriended him and blocked him. I don't want to be connected in any way with him. He is on a few facebook gun trading and sales sites in Canada.

Thanks. He is on a few sites. I have let admin know on one of the major ones. Going to see what if anything will happen. Just sad this goes on. Anything for a buck....
 
It's a refurb like everyone else has said.

I'm only curious now as to how much he's willing to let someone try and get ripped off for it.

I picked up an actual non refurb, unissued 1954 about a year back and paid $200 cash.
 
yeah it's a refurb.. at Christmas time, i picked up a 1950 sks with a black bayo but with a nice lam stock. i knew it was a refurb cause of the stock at least. According to another thread somewhere here, the 1950 sks were issued with black bayos..I bought it as a New Year's Day special at Grouse River, oh, and i only paid $149 +tax. (why i bought only 1, i'll never know).
