Just ordered a Chaparral (I know) 1876 in 50-95. Brass is not available as such, but can be made from suitable parent case options. I cannot, however, find actual case dimensions for the 50-95 anywhere to do a comparison in this regard. I believe .348 Win is the best contender, but I have found a source of 50-110 Win that may or may not work depending on dimensions. Any leads on finding actual 50-95 case dimensions?

All three for direct comparison. Cartridges of the World said that most rifles will function fine with .348 Win as the parent.

I own a 1876 Chaparral, and I must say it's a great rifle, nothing wrong with, very accurate.
It was one of my best buys last year.

I have ordered both books, gentlemen. At this point, however, it would appear that the best contender for this cartridge may well be the 50-90 Sharps which is possible (not easy) to acquire.

The rifle arrived yesterday. Very nice indeed. Good thing I am old and have patience since I will not be shooting it any time soon. It has the 22" octagonal barrel, nice case hardening, and the fit and finish is excellent. Still gummy with the shipping preservative, but a good cleaning (and maybe some polishing of internals) should result in a great action. It's not too bad out of the box.

Edit; The new RCBS legacy dies in 50-95 WCF are in the mail from Buffalo Arms. $69.95 all in. :)

You will se it's a great rifle, once your cleaned the mechanism.
As you said, they are well made, and soon you'll find out they are accurate as well.
Mine is in 45-60, so easier to find components for and to reload.
