If anyone is in the market for a Sako A7 Stainless in 270 or 243 Jo Brook has them on sale for a price I've never seen before - $899.00

I guess I got the last 7mm rem mag but usually I see these guns for $1200-$1250 at other stores and their regular price is good at $1089, $899 is hard to beat.

Enjoy.

Just ordered one... Can't pass on this deal. People are asking more than this in the EE for a used A7.

Does the bases comes with the rifle ?

That is a great deal but just so you know Dante has been selling them for $829.77 for some time now...not sure what stock they have left.

I paid $950. on sale at WSS Wpg. This was 2-3 years ago. Where/who is Dante? In case I can think of a perfect excuse to buy another one!

Dante is a nice little store in Montreal, Qc...

But since its in Quebekistan, taxes are crazy, I better like buy it from another province.

Actually at Dante's they are $1297 with a crap scope. The only thing you get is the rings basically.... nothing against Dante's, it's an option at all Sako dealers. The rifle you are talking about at $829 is not the stainless model. I doubt you'll find a new A7 stainless for 899 but if you do feel free to share :) I may need another in a different caliber.

You are correct sir, I missed the stainless part.

Got the A7 Stainless in today. Comparing it to my X Bolts, Model 70 Extreme Weather SS, and several Savages, The Sako A7 has the nicest trigger by far, and it feeds round smoother than any bolt rifle I've owned. Nice stock. Wow very impressed.

Not impressed however with the plastic bottom "metal" / trigger guard and crowning. The Model 70 and the X Bolt has this thing beat in the fine finishings department. If it shoots sub moa it will be well worth the $899

And to answer your question yep it came with the stainless bases

Thank you sir ! So Sako have a big advantage over Tikka to lower the cost of mounting optics...

Can't wait to try mine !

I believe the bases may be aluminium (mine were). I swapped them out for Leupold steel ones (I think the A-Bolt bases fit but the package should say). However if it doesn't bother you then you're good to go. As you said its nice to have more common mounting options on a Sako.

I received my A7 today.

The bases are made of Aluminium, which I'm gonna replace with SS bases.

The trigger will need to be tuned, its a little heavy with factory settings but break like glass.

There is one thing I'm disapointed is to have a hard case instead of the original box.
Other than that I'm verry happy with this deal, can't wait to shoot it.

Boyds Has Laminate Stocks for the Sako A7's now....

Just giving this a bump and to report that while cruising the Boyds stock site last night I was pleased to learn that Boyds is now offering laminate stocks for the Sako A7.

So, for those of you that love a stainless barreled action in a pepper laminate stock, there you go.

not bad looking. If the stock was anything like the Tikka's I would likely get rid of it but its the soft touch coating and it feels pretty nice. I think it will do well for winter hunting.

As an aside, the Sako shoots holes in holes. Wow. It's awesome
