I went to Front Sight in Nevada and brought my Norc 1911. I mentioned it a few times on here and it took me about a week to beat out the flames. So here's proof -If I figured out how to post the scans OK. These are the documents I submitted to BATF with their approval.(I blacked out any info that trolls could use)

Yeah. Sounds goofy. It's accurate, goes bang every time, and doesn't malfunction. It's the best .45 I own. It's the only .45 I own. 600 rounds over 4 days and 0 malfunctions with stock Norinco mags. I don't care if it's made in China. In Nevada it was nicknamed "The Boat" (Chinese Junk). Everyone agreed that it shot like a champ.

I have a diamond membership to Front Sight. Every course I take there is free for the rest of my life. My costs only include transportation, lodgings and ammo.
Also guarantees me a seat in any course without reservation, anytime a course is offered. Guaranteed ammo to purchase for any course I register for. (quite a benefit with the ammo shortages in the US) and 40% off the pro shop. Without a membership of any kind, the courses are $500 US/day. So I'll probably go back on a cheap flight (sell off charters) and take some other gun. Actually, I'll probably take the norc again. My daughter and her hubby are both ardent shooters. I bought them both a diamond membership. (This was a while ago. Diamond memberships are cost prohibitive now.) They came with me. On the last day, my daughter shot all the stages from 3 meters to 15 meters with no deductions for accuracy. She beat her dad soundly. Proud Papa!

On the form the only restriction I saw was:

Rifle barrel over 16" and overall length 26"
Shotgun barrel over 18" and overall length 26"

I was contemplating adding my Norc Ar15 /w 16.5" barrel (my backup AR) to my form 6, but did not want to risk it at the time. Maybe try it out when time to renew.

I wonder if the "assault rifle from a commie bloc country" might be treated differently than just another pistol.

The AR15 platform is the rifle of choice for the practical rifle course. Let us know what happens with your form 6 if you try it!

Well done!!!

Might be time to go back for some more courses! (Form 6 NIA looks to be the way to go (cheaper than renting, that is)).

It cost $200 to rent a gun, holster, belt, mag pouches, and four mags, for the four days. Quality guns too. Colts, Springfields, glocks . My daughter's springfield 1911 rental was slicker than goose poop. Probably had a gajillion rounds through it.

The only problem I have with Front Sight is that if I ever get there I won't come back until ICE kicks me out.
I know what you mean. Day two at lunch they pulled out the full autos and told us to have fun. Uzi, mini uzi, m16, a couple of hk's and a Thompson. $20 a mag. I rocked the thompson and skipped lunch that day. The look on my daughter's face when she touched off the m16 was worth the price of the trip.
