Finally got to try out my FV-SR.

nice shooting. Now if we could only do something about that threaded muzzle I might just get one myself.

Savage really does their rifles a disservice with that child sized tupperware thing they call a stock. The FV-SR would be sweet if it came in a tacticool. I think a swiffer wetjet would be an improvement over that cheap thing.

Hey budd, nice grouping ... what kinda scope is that ?

And where did you buy you Fv-Sr cant seem to find them anywhere ....

I had one awhile back , i think it was a lemon because it would not group worth a crap with all ammo except one kind ! I could never get a group at 50 yards smaller than a golf ball, unless i shot cci stingers ? it hated all other ammo ? so weird cause most rifles dont group well with stingers? I think i just got a bad one cause others seem to have better results .. I spent a bit extra and bought a CZ 452 never looked back , it shoots all ammo well.

I almost bought an FV-SR but the stock turned me off as well. Bought a Mark2 TR instead. Only difference, besides the tacticool stock is the longer barrel. I love the look and feel of my gun far more than the FV-SR that I handled.

I've read that Mk2's are capable of amazing accuracy with some love to a few parts of the gun. Is there any truth to that? Right now I prefer to blame the shooter and crappy ammo for my less than stellar groups. ;)

Groups were shot at 25 yds.I wanted to try it at 50 but it was starting to get pretty windy.Scope is a Bushnell Banner 4-12x40AO that I picked up on E-Bay for $55.Portable bench is a Workmate,works pretty good.I definitely see a Boyds stock in my near future.

I got to spend some time behind a friends FV-SR, amazing little rifle, I want one/a similar one for myself, but i keep buying other things :p

Glad you like yours!

I love my FV-SR, but yeah..the stock sucks. Not crazy about the threaded barrel either...but Savage could be forgiven if they can make suppressors legal in Canada. :) I went down the "Boyd's" route with a different Savage a few years ago, well-made thing, heavy..and didn't really add to the shooting experience for me. So, this time around..I added an "Accu-riser" and I think it's a great product.

Here is my daughter posing with my FV-SR;
