What a bunch of propoganda bs. That guy made that 1911 in the shop in his backyard.....yeah right.
 
Im pretty darn sure the SIG 1911s are not built in Germany at the factory in that video but they are made in the US in their 1911 shop. Makes no sense to compare SIG 1911s to SAM 1911s from these 2 videos ? From handling and shooting both the SIG 1911 is a much better made more refined 1911, for a entry 1911 the SAM is the best bang for the buck but its no SIG.
 
Plus the SIG isn't a real 1911 anyway with that series 80 bull#### in there and those weird slides.... Lol
I'd carry a 226 in a heartbeat though....

This video is not a propaganda. They exists and do make 1911s. Looks good cosmetically and functions good for few hundred rounds until you suffer a malfunction. Then you dig into the barrel and internals. I've seen an S&W 38 special snub-nosed revolver. It was too good to be true until you look into the rifling. A micro UZI in .22 mag. An STI Hicap, a Caspian, an Ingram SMG. They are all cosmetically good. Fit is good, but again, not the internals. AFAIK, most of SAM's employees started from these backyard business. They know the ins-and-outs of building a firearm. And with the right tools and materials, they easily adapted to the technicalities of building a quality firearm. You can buy a knock-off 1911 for as cheap as $ 100. A knock-off revolver between $ 50-80. This is how these backyard business thrive, cheap and disposable firearm. No documents required and this is the primary reason these firearms ended up in the hands of the outlaws.

Okay...... So you believe that the 1911, that was removed from the purse, was built from scratch by that masked man in that displayed shop? If you do, please find me that video as I'd love to watch it. That 1911 may have exited through the back door of the Sam factory, but definitely was not carved by hand in that man's hut.
 
It's hard to believe as a westerner that someone could produce a nice looking 1911 in their backyard. But I think it's possible because thats probably all they have been doing their whole life just to make a living. Why not, a few jigs, essential tools, and a heck of a lot of time, sure. The rear sight didnt look as fancy as the slide slots though. This guy must have an inside man at one of the many factories making guns to supply the odd barrel and bushing though. The 1911 is a pretty simple gun to make, most guns are simple to make and still make a profit - look at Norcs.
 
Not that same 1911, but close to how they build them from scratch. Notice how crude the way they make the frame.
