US Bill To Change Definition Of Antique Firearms

If this goes thru and i hope it does it will help our cause and if Harper can slap that little JT cry baby in the next ellection and pull off a win we might be able to get ours changed to and in a big way.
the CPC need a big win then we can get a bill put thru. the other thing is the RCMP need to be slaped back into there roll of law keepers not law makers if Harper dont get them under controll and soon then we have little chance.
Getting rid of the stupid No cartridge list and going with the 100 year thing might just work if the USA can pull it off.
We can have SA pistols now in C 96 mausers so they cant really use that as and arguement. saying look at all the SA handguns made after 1900.
Trust me they the antis will try. if the USA can do this and we get another 4 years we can try and do it or some improvement to it to.

Now if we can eliminate the trade tariffs between us and the US, this would be a big benefitto both sides.

Diefenbaker, another conservative PM, shut down the Arrow Project and Canada went from a leader in the aerospace industry to a third word buyer of military equipment.
Research and education are the keys to first world nation.
The trade agreements sound good but the details are scary in my opinion and not to Canada’s long term benefit.

Since this is a firearms forum, it is pretty much a no-brainer which political party is our best hope .... the one that actually delivered on their promise to end the LGR. I tend to agree with Dingus on this, but we need to push for all we can get right now, as there is no guarantee that the CPC will be re-elected.
You've got to be effing joking me? Who are you hoping will win? Any other party that is an option is going to take any and all gun rights that they can from us, and then some. You think that the NDP or Liberals will do anything to rein in the RCMP and their heavy handed law-making tactics? No chance, they will be encouraged to take it farther. If you consider your firearms and the hobby/sport of shooting and anything to do with firearms as a big priority in your life (I would assume so, as you're on this forum) then you've got to be kidding me about CPC/Harper screwing Canada up.
As for the rest of his policies, what do you want? Money has to be saved somewhere - we are one of the only developed nations that did not completely tank in the economic slowdown. Do you think that is because of things that the official opposition did to "help" out? Not hardly....
As for Canada's economy in general, well the NDP has made it clear that they are vehemently opposed to the Oilsands in general. The oilsands are a MASSIVE part of the Canadian economy. Would Canada tank if we lost them? Probably not, but we sure wouldn't flourish like we have been... And please don't start on the environmental stuff about Oilsands - it is not NEARLY as bad as it's made out to be in the left wing media. It simply isn't. Could there be slightly more environmental controls/regulations? Yes (This is coming from a guy who works in the Oil Sands field - I'm an instrumentation technician/instrumentation designer), but we also have to be careful not to regulate business out of Canada. Once it becomes too difficult/expensive to operate here, the businesses that keep the economy going will just move on. That's how the global economy works - there's no point in staying somewhere that isn't truly profitable.
Please spare me the garbage and open up your eyes regarding this. I don't mean to be an a$$ but honestly, voting for anyone OTHER than CPC is just asking for our country to go to crap. I agree that there are things CPC/Harper have done that are less than ideal, and maybe have even downright sucked, but look at the alternatives....
If there's really a solution, it's for everyday people to pull up their boots and get into politics. We need to have some politicians who are NOT lifelong politicians, who are not in it for their career or for the power. We need people in power who don't care about the power. Who care about helping move all parts of this country forward and removing big government from the citizens' lives.

Do you know what ITAR is? Look it up, it's the export restrictions put in place by the US for anything remotely connected to "weapons". It's why nothing firearm related can be exported out of the US to Canada without a US Export License.
Are you aware that Canada used to be EXEMPT from ITAR? Guess who asked the US government to end the Canadian exemption? Jean Chretien and his liberal buddies.

You should give a flying f!(k about politics. You live in a country, don't you? What happens if the liberals or ndp get in to office and decide that all semi automatic rifles are now restricted? Or that hand guns can only hand five shots? Or make more guns prohibited? Guns that you own? Then you will start caring. That's why everyone who has an interest in firearms should be standing up for their rights and also for political parties who will support our hobby.
But regarding "chemtrails"? Really? Could you make me one of those tinfoil hats too please? They are called exhaust trails, from planes. Do you also think that "they" put additives into our automotive fuel to poison us? Don't you think that "they" would try to poison people using less obvious techniques than spraying from planes? Especially since the Order of the Tinfoil has "exposed" chemtrails.....
