I just have a quick question about the AR being advertised with Canada Ammo (Dominion Arms DA556 M16-Style Rifle w/1-12" Twist Rate).
Is it the old Imported model CQ311 or is it a new one that just looks like it?
A friend had one of the CQ311 and he said it was metric and most of the parts weren't interchangeable with our AR platforms.
Does anyone have experience with this new rifle on the market?

With a little work they can look like

I was wondering the same thing.
Looking at the picture of it, it looks like it uses the same A2 style lower that the carbines do rather than the A1 style that the original CQ311's did.

Wild ass guess on my part says it is a blend of some old 311 parts with newer ones, so maybe hit and miss depending on what you want to change.

The orig 311 like in my pic have the old style flat delta ring .
I see the new 311 in Canams ad have the new style .
So they are not identical to the orig 311 . Don't know what else is different .

From CanAM:

The factory is all brand new, with all new machines. The colour is black, not grey. The lower is anodized (we haven't confirm the upper yet), barrels and receivers are forged. Stocks are made to a higher standard (from memory, I do not have a old one here). I believe the threads, etc are standard, no metric (not yet confirmed, but the others models are)

I just got a DA-556. I like it . I haven't fired it yet, but the fit and finish are good. I like the removable carry handle and quad rail forend. The mags that are supplied are a joke. They have a huge window cut in the side of them.

Actually I do want to have one that looks like #1bcshooter has in his picture.
I have the triangular hand guards and original butt stock, but would need the muzzle break.
I can't afford one at the moment, I have commitments that have to be completed first. Like a New Roof, "Above all you need a roof" Sam Leblanc.
I am selling a number of non restricted, and 12-6 Prohibs first. I am going to add a few 12-5 and 12-3s to my collection.
