Introducing our newest chassis: The MDT LSS (Light Sniper System)

Very keen to get my hands on one of these, I have a Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .300 WSM on order and a shiny new Swarovski Z6 3-18x50P BT L scope waiting for its new home.

I was a tad confused reading about mounting issues with the Magpul PRS stock and the fixed stock adapter - has this been resolved?

Does anyone have photos of the Night Vision Hood mounted on an LSS rifle/chassis?

What are you confused about? With a fixed rifle stock such as the PRS, you need the fixed stock adapter. It does increase the LOP which is an issue for some shooters. We have some customers who cut the adapter down and locked it into place with a set screw. It looks better and helps with the LOP. We may incorporate this in the future.

We should have photos soon of the NV Hood.

Thanks for the speedy reply - I had read earlier posts where there was an issue with the fixed stock adaptor and thread depths but I assume this is long past. I would like to use the PRS stock and if possible a folding adaptor, will this work?

I spoke to you folks by e-mail last week with regard to a Tikka T3 Super Varmint in .300 WSM. I'm in the UK - should I order direct for the LSS and accessories, what sort of turn-around time are you quoting?

Thanks again.

OK yes, that issue is long gone. Yes you can use a folding adapter, in which case you will not need our LSS fixed stock adapter.
Sure, to order for international orders please see http://support.mdttac.com/hc/en-us/articles/202334838-Do-you-ship-to-my-country-

Thanks for the incredibly speedy reply - I'll have my order with you soon.

I was thinking of the LAW Tactical folding adaptor - or is there one more suitable?

Fantastic - many thanks.

[edit]

I've had a look at the SFU from Hera, looks exactly what I'm after - thanks again.

Sir, that's no Haggis - everyone knows that the Haggis has long legs on one side and short on t'other for running around hills without rolling over.

Mighty fine looking Boomstick.

Finished installing my Savage 110 in 300 WinMag, in the LSS (FDE) chassis. The barrel is 24" long. I am quite pleased how it turned out. Still need to take it out to the range.

Unfortunately the FDE color used by MDT is not an exact match to the Magpul FDE, but is only really noticeable when using the camera flash.

Looking good Beezer - apart from the stock (I'm planning a Magpul PRS) it looks pretty much how I see mine turning out, if only Tikka would get their fingers out and deliver my T3 in .300 WSM.

That's a nice looking rifle.

TAC21, curious on which action and barrel combination this is.

Thanks,
D.

I think that's a 16", but I might be wrong.

Oh, by the way, TAC21 you should update your first post in this thread, with more current information...like the Mossbergs, short and long Savages with compatible models listed, price differences and so on. Just saying!

BTW, has anyone put a .338LM on an LSS yet? It should have no problem with increased recoil impulse, right?

Would a Savage 110-FCP fit on the long action LSS?
