Anyone tried sending a PCV magazine to a firearms verifier?
why ?
you need approval
who cares where do i buy pcv pvc mags from pronto people![]()
The PCV mags are produced illegally and do not have RCMP approval. That's why they are not allowed to be sold in the EE. Possessing those is playing with fire... Just because the RCMP hasn't shut them down yet, doesn't mean that they won't. This company produces a prohibited device, and rivets them after the fact. (I know, stupid laws, but still the law)
The E-Lander mags are not "manufactured" identically to the Alexander Arms mags. Those are .223 mag tubes, with an anti-tilt .223 follower, and .50 Beowulf stamped on the side. They are the same magazine that the company uses for their .223 mags, therefore "Dual Purpose".
Alexander Arms manufactures their mags specifically for the .50 Beowulf cartridge and they clearly state that they are NOT compatible with the .223 cartridge. The follower is modified on these so that they will "only" cycle .50 Beowulf cartridges. The RCMP has no choice but to honour these, because they are legitimately manufactured by the company that makes the .50 Beowulf cartridge. Therefore NOT dual purpose.
We don't have to agree with the way these rules/laws are applied, but that is the rational behind the RCMP decisions. Hope it makes a bit more sense now.
There is no rivet in the 5/5 .50 beowulf mags....
It has also come to our attention that the factory has sent out notice to consumers in July 2013 that an unknown number of previously manufactured magazines may hold more than 5 rounds of 50 cal ammunition. The notice asked consumers to install rivets to their magazine at their own time, and as an option, could elect to send their magazines back.

these are good mags . As for legal - I have personally seen these for sale on the shelf of a site sponsor EVEN thou it can't be mentioned here.
- these have been for sale for a while now and stocked on store front shelves other than the manufacturer . The RCMP are not going to publicly announce for every magazine made / imported " legal " or otherwise for every rifle - every caliber ever made from the beginning of time . Does anyone have the bulletin showing the buttler creek 10/22 mags are legal ? or the CCA 10rd pistol mags that fit into AR's ? from the RCMP - NO --- so allot of people are on the fence waiting for a thumbs-up from the boys in blue in writing but own other aftermarket magazines WITHOUT a formal declaration by the RCMP saying LEGAL.
50 Beowulf uppers exist - these need mags - they work in something else - so what
From what one dealer told me, AA will not export to Canada anymore because RCMP will not approve the import...so no the RCMP is not 'honoring' the AA .50 beuwolf magazines.
You we not correctly informed. AA won't export directly to Canada because they have an endless backorder of US sales. The owner at AA openly stated that he doesn't care to deal with Canada. They're a relatively small company that doesn't have much intention of growing to its full potential.
I just check AA website. I realy want one of those 50 uppers. The funny this is they don't even list a 5 round mag, 4, 7 and 10. What am I missing?
Well, the Canadian importer for AA magazines lied to me then.
