a 338-375 Ruger, now might be a change of plans.

I'm just looking for someone that can do a simple rechamber job, I had one place mentioned in Regina that had a reamer but after some non existant customer service I don't feel comfortable sending my rifle there. Any tips would be apreciated. Change of plans. See post #8 now have a 8mm mag in the mix.

Well there might be a change of plans, I don't really have a need for a cartridge between my 300wsm and my 358 STA but now I have the Ruger in 338 mentioned and a Rem 700 in 8mm mag, so I can spend some money to get the Ruger rechambered or customize the 8mm a bit, I have a pile of 8mm ammo and the Ruger will be a bit of a pain to load for.

Wouldn't 338/375 Ruger be similar to new 338 Norma?
Wouldn't reboring to 375/338Win Mag make more sense?
As a matter of fact I am in process of building 375/338Win Mag on Ruger Mark I now.
Week ago I and my hunting buddy were watching 400lbs+ grizzly 80 yards away while hunting black bears arround Kamloops, B.C.
That's the second time this year that I saw one and usually they can be spotted here only once in blue moon!

Exactly but only if I can find a reamer, I have no problem finding someone that can do the work, getting the reamer is the problem.

Easier said than done....
Easier to rechamber if you can make that Ruger feed smoothly with new cartridge and if there is enough "meat" over much larger diameter chamber that won't compromise margin of safety....

If your rifle is factory Ruger build in 375 Ruger then it better feed cartridges well.
Rechambered 338 Win Mag into 338/375 Rugers might feed fine but don't count on it.
