Me and a few buddies picked some up. My SVT doesn't seem to like it much. Roughly a third to a half of the rounds don't fire the first time the firing pin hits them, they all fire fine the second time around though. This hasn't been a problem I've had with any other surplus I have fired. My friends mosin sniper on the other hand doesn't have a problem with the chinese stuff. Pull the trigger and bang every time with pretty good accuracy (we're all mediocre shots at best).
Was it corrosive? less corrosive? non corrosive as advertised? Thanks!
To be perfectly clear. I am asking about the above, not the surplus stuff in tins which is for sure corrosive, thanks! Sold by one of the dealers on here, rhymes with Ranada Camo
I've bought the Chicom milsurp stuff from SFRC twice now and my SVT-40 LOVES the stuff. I have it set at 1.3 and it cycles like a champ.
Here a video of me firing off 5 rounds of it last winter at the range.

And again at the cottage a few weeks ago. Sorry for the jabber... my 9 year-old was filming. LOL

So all people need is cheap Mosin now ?
I could just have a bad batch of ammo, or my firing pin could be worn down a little. Who knows?
OK, the following happened to me when I first got my SVT...
I did not disassemble the firing pin so there was still a ton of grease in there and it was causing light strikes and FTFs.
I then took the bolt apart, cleaned out all the industrial-strength grease in there, oiled it and reassembled it.
No problems since !!
