Has any re-loaders have experience with the Speer Grand Slam. How did they perform for accuracy? What results did you achieve on animals?
Many thanks!

I used the old dual core GS in my .338 w They were pretty accurate and held together well when fired into wet gravel.
I only used them on one deer.
Unless they're free I wouldn't bother with them now.

Very accurate. Don't expect to recover one from game. Make sure that there isn't another animal on the off side of the one that you are shooting at unless you have dual tags.

Thanks for your input. Why wouldn't you bother with them, unless they were free?

I use 180gr and 165gr in my /06 and have fired but not hunted with 120gr in my .257. The results out of the /06 have been very good. Dropped a couple of deer and a bear. Accuracy has been great as well. I have heard negative talk about them since I started shooting them but for me they do an excellent job. Funny as I can never find them either.

I have used the 250gr Grand Slam in my 338wm for years. If connect with a moose, its dead; same with a buck; great on bears. One shot - one kill.
Very good bullet IMHO. I load back from max about 15% and still retain very good accuracy without the flame thrower because I run a SAKO full wood carbine with 18" barrel.

i have used them in 300 and 7 mag. they work well but i think there are better more aero dynamic bullets like noz ab and hornady ib for the money. i still have a couple hundred 7mm 175's on the shelf i will eventually use probably for bear.

Used, and still do when the mood strikes, the 165gr in a 308 win. Accuracy for the same load in 2 different rifles has been excellent.

I have used the .311 200 grain ones they used to make, I have a P14 that is chambered for a 300 win mag, they were very accurate, shot one deer, through the top of both shoulders as it was behind a fallen log, it had the expected result. Through and gone,.
