10/22 sporter barrel?

Great. I only offered the ultralight barrels as an option because you commented about weight. Yes these are .920 barrels but they are sickly light but not what you wanted.
As I said mystic and dlask are great but just know that an aftermarket barrel from these dealers will be more weight than tbe stock barrel.
IMO, ask them what the weight will be.
Will you be shooting offhand? Yes added weight stablizes you but makes holding it for longer times more challenging.
Pick your poision. Some like more, some like less.

How can you not understand that if he orders a sporter contour barrel of the same length and dimensions as the stock ruger barrel it will be the same weight. Mystic and Dlask sell different cotour barrels besides full on bull barrels. Stop stating incorrect information as fact to the OP.

Also, no where in his original comment did he mention weight, he said he didn't want a heavy barrel referring to the contour type. i.e. heavy bull barrel, instead wanting to go the route with a sporter contour or one that is similar to the factory ruger contour which has a muzzle diameter of .559-.560 inches.

A barrel the same dimensions as the stock ruger barrel can be ordered from Mystic that will be very close if not the same weight as the stock ruger barrel. Are you purposely being a troll here because this has to be at least your third time trying to convince someone that any after market barrel is magically heavier than a stock barrel even if its the same contour.

Also are you trying to claim that ss is going to give a noticeable weight difference vs. chromoly? As their densities are very similar they would have negligible differences in weight.

I'm thinking about a factory contour barrel with bentz chamber, dlask bolt and charging rod/handle. The trigger has already been done. I'm not sure if the bolt will make much difference, but I thought it might be worth a try. About a year ago, I bought a Dlask reciever, barrel and Hogue overmoulded, but once I got them together, they just didn't do it for me, not my thing. I came across a very nice original deluxe walnut stock, so I'm going back to the original reciever, stock, trigger group and then a few upgrades. I figure if I sell the Dlask parts it should pay for a few goodies.
