US Army proceeds to role out 8000 M26 Modular Shotguns

Seems like the initial field trials went well. US Army will be continuing to issue these new shotguns to combat troops based on positive field trials. Approx 8000 to be in the hands of soldiers by 2015. They offer a stand alone as well as an under barrel mount for the M4.

Yawn, been using the m26 in Battlefield 3 and 4 for years. Controller recoil is easier managed, and I don't have to get off the couch.

I kid. Great picture, eh? When do we get ours? Ten years from now, the RCMP decide it's a variant of the ak47, because the mag is slightly curved...
 
Nice muzzle blast there.

Are standard picatinny rails meant to take this kind of abuse(from the recoil)?
Or does this require some kind of special mounting system?
Can't quite tell from the picture.

At any rate, very cool.

EDIT: Just took a closer look, there does seem to be some kind of special mounting system there.
