Just received my Tavor last friday, everything I read on CGN everyone complains about the trigger.

I put over 300 rounds in it this weekend and I must be the only one on here that doesn't mind the trigger? I expected it to be HORRIBLE but found it totally fine.

Maybe because of my lack of experience with using a Timney or Gissele screams out here.
 
Some guys like to complain about things because they have nothing better to do. The trigger is fine as far as a batte rifle goes, its the shooter that needs work.
 
The trigger sucks, but it is manageable. It's not a bench rest gun, nor was it intended to be. If it can make a head shot at a 100 yards, and a center of mass hit at 300, I'd say its doing what it was designed for just fine.
I've thought about getting on the Timney trigger wait list myself, but I'm still not sure if its something I need. I was just out shooting on Sunday. I had absolutely no issues hitting a 6" plate at 100 yards, shooting off hand with just a Aimpoint. Nothing too impressive, but its good enough for me. I don't care if its 1.75 MOA or 5 MOA. All I know is I hit whatever I shoot it at. What more could I ask from a rifle of this type?
I'm sure the Timney will make it a nicer gun to shoot, but I'm still not convinced its a upgrade the Tavor needs. At least not for the type of shooting I'm into.

I see your point. I don't mind it at all. Seems fine to me. Maybe I'll upgrade if I have the money but I'm saving for some good optics

That's probably because the Tavor has an 8 pound break and the RFB feels like it's somewhere between 3-4 pounds.

Other than being very heavy I didn't really mind the trigger on the Tavor. It's heavy but at least it's consistent. The nicest one I've shot so far was the one that had the trigger spring mod.
I'd like to try one with the Timney but don't really care all that much since I'll probably never own a Tavor.

over 300 rounds in a few hours and my finger didn't get swollen at all. Not even tender.

That is what I'm thinking, i have never shot a first gen Tavor so i can only read about.

Supposedly with the new trigger pack you can get a new spring and it will help the trigger a ton.
 
The stock trigger is a PITA and no bones about it. If all you want is minute-of-mudflap at 25 yards then the stock trigger is fine. So is a tire iron in those conditions though.

For slow fire work the stock trigger has to go. Boss Hogg at Accurate Arms sells the Timney trigger and that is exactly the fix this gun needs for decent offhand work. I heard there were some complaints about light hammer strikes with the new trigger pack but I haven't noticed it with mine. I find the Tavor very difficult to shoot off hand under slow fire conditions - and absolutely hellish with the old stock trigger.

My scholarly opinion is that the aftermarket trigger packs will not make sense to the dedicated run n' gunner. It will make a world of difference to us guys that like to shoot from the positions at longer range.
 
I might be getting mine in a month after all. One lung you should meet up with tv and go shooting he's in your neck of the mountains no?

This is an accruate statement.

For a Bullpup the RFB trigger is much better.

There are now after market Tavor triggers being tested.

I have tried one, but am waiting for the upgraded parts before I pass final judgment.

FYI: I was within a 4" group standing @ 50 Yards with the Timney trigger. Just need to improve its reliability.

Just an addendum - I have the Timney unit and mine goes bang every time without fail. Primer strikes are solid and although Boss Hogg at Accurate is sending out replacement springs...I personally don't need it.
