Anybody know if you can buy their Spread-R ammo in Canada, if not, can you buy their wads and Spread-R tips for handloads?

I have an older Rem 1100 in 20ga with a fixed Mod choke and would like to put in the first round with a Spread-R for grouse.
I'm thinking this would be cheaper than having the barrel threaded for chokes at Briley as these standard weight barrels are hard to come by.

No you can't. They do not export to Canada at this time. Below is a response I received from them about a year ago. It remains the same.

Thanks for your inquiry.

We have the ideal cartridges for your Flues in our 'Vintager' and 'DoubleWide' cartridges--but don't , at this time, have any dealers or distributors in Canada.

I have used with good success this trick to open patterns in my 16 gauges. Cut a length of milk shake straw just long enough to fit the length of the shot cup. Add your shot in and around the straw. I also have been able to just push the straw portion into the shot if it is 71/2 or #8 size. This will open your MOD choke to about IMP CYL maybe even Skeet 1. As always test the loads on paper to see just how your barrel/choke responds to the load. I always grab a few straws at McDonalds as they seem to work the best and are pretty much free.

Neat trick! I'll have to try that.
Need to get a MEC reloader as it seems ammo is out of the question.

Will Bilozir sells BPI products in Canada. BPI offers some spreader inserts and some wads designed to work like a spreader. Not exactly what you asked for, but they might work.

Yes they will ship the Spread-R disks (not shells) to Canada. The woman there was most helpful.

Good to know!

Light cardboard fitted with a slit and pushed together to form an +, placed in the shot cup and shot poured around it, will give you and excellent spreader load. Used to do it all the time for Woodcock. Cheers, Jim
