Minor issue with VZ 58, Suggestions please...(FIXED)

I had my VZ58 out to the range today and was shooting away and it performs flawlessly, However I took the muzzle thread protector off and in doing so depressed the pin down that holds it in place and it will not return to its previous position. Suggestions on what to do people? I have sprayed some penetrating fluid to it to see if I can get it to spring back to no avail. Want to replace the protector with a muzzlebreak, but will still need the pin, or should I just forget about it and add a crush washer instead?

Now you got me pulling mine out, my pin I can push in and out with my finger. Not to sure why yours is jammed in.

Maybe the spring inside broke or slipped around it, id say try depressing it and getting it to spring out. Maybe some vice grips or something similar to try and pull it back out.

Can't get grips on it, tried tapping the side to jar it loose with a plastic mallet, pushing in with a punch to see if it would spring back out. Nuthin seems to work

Try:

A) rotating the pin (both ways, just a bit)
B) a magnetic pickup may get it moving.

Looking at the parts diagram (pg 46 in this PDF ht tp://www.weaponeer.net/forum/uploads/gunguyr/files/2008-08-04_224530_cz58.pdf

It looks like the pin is asymmetrical, so rotating looks like a good bet. Will be a b1tch without being able to grab it somehow though.

1 - Punch out front sight pin
2 - Use dental tool to pick it from the hole
3 - Remove detent and spring
4 - Compressed air to clean out cavity and detent and spring, remove any burs and fouling
5 - Reassemble, lube

So are you saying punch out the pins that hold the front sight on? remove the whole assembly then pick out the button? Then re assemble?

This is EXACTLY what needed to be done. And, it may need to be done again if it catches again as there is an ever so small imperfection on that pin that seems to be catching on the channel. That said it is fixed for now, and I know how to fix it if it happens again. Thanks for the help !

Glad it worked out, I only had to remove the front pin, not whole assembly, hence the picking part.

Once i punched out the front pin it popped back into position. I wiped out the channel and dripped in some fresh gun oil and it seems okay for now.

So I have had the opposite issue with my pin. It keeps popping out completely. Any advice for me? The spring pops out too when the pin comes out. I have also tried turning it a few different directions to get the pin to stay in but it just keeps popping out if I do t have the flash hider on it.
Thoughts?

Its possible your pin is under sized, or the detent is undersized, please follow above steps and remove it for a picture.
