Made by GSG
The 1911 are GSG's for sure. For what it's worth I've read quite a few comments that the finish on the Sig one's seems to last longer. Whether that's true or worth the extra cost is questionable.
Not sure about the Mosquito. The top ends that were available for the 226 and 228 looked to be genuine Sig product. If they farmed it out then they kept very tight QC on them, thus the fairly high cost, but also the quality.
Definitely better finish for more money. GSG 1911 is fun to shoot, lighter on your wallet.
My slide just cracked in two with no joy from Sig.. never again
Cracked in 2.
I'm curious, what happened?
What did Sig say Silver ? Just a ' sucks to be you ' and gl with that. It's not like it's any kind of secret that 99% of the ' Clone ' or ' Replica ' 22's are having issues atm, mostly cracked slides. Did you try Blueline
by chance ?
That is a Mosquito not a 1911-22. Warranty would be through MD Charlton in BC. I am also pretty sure they have replacement slides.
The discussion was about GSG manufactured product in this case a Mosquito sold by SIG and made by GSG there was no option provided by SIG other than replacing the slide at my cost.
If the 1911 is different for warrenty great but I won't be in the market for one after having SIG giving me the finger.
So, is that what MD Charlton told you?
Also the Mosquito is notorious for this failure, the 1911-22 not.
