Quoted for truth. I sometimes wonder if that is the REAL NFA group or just some giddy fanboy posting twaddlepop

1. Much cheering would ensue.
2. Bonfires fuelled by rum and registration paperwork would illuminate the night.
3. Retailers would increase the price of AR-15's by 100%.
4. EE would see a flood of heavily used AR-15's at 150% of new retail.
5. Retailers would be suddenly posting out-of-stock/backordered messages.
6. Nasty postings in Retailers forums would point fingers at the Retailers accusing them of profiteering and keeping supply low.
7. Retailers would have mass bans of users for posting in their forums.
8. Nation wide shortages of AR-15's and .223 ammo would cause rioting in the streets.
9. People would post on the CBC website that it is a Harper's fault.
10. The Army would be called in to put down the rebellion.
11. The governement would fall, and the Green party would take power.
12. The AR-15 would then be deemed Prohibited.
Careful what you wish for.
I suppose they could "non restrict" the AR by name - then barrel length wouldn't enter into it. Or they could make it just another rifle, in which case we'd see a lot of C7A2 look alikes.
Let's be honest here. Registration or not the RCMP will be at every pal holders address to seize firearms if that time comes. If the RCMP came to my door to take my firearms. I would give them my firearms. Why? Because my family is what's important to me. I'm not gonna go hide a few firearms. Get caught later then go to jail and leave my family to fend for themselves. Not happening. And I hope you would all do the same. Guns ARE NOT more important then your loved ones.
There are two big advantages to keeping them restricted but allowing use anywhere it is legal (eliminating ATTs.)
1) No barrel length restrictions! I don't want a stupid 20 inch AR. I like my 10.5.
2) as the regs currently stand they cannot prohibit the AR because it is restricted by name. The argument can be made that low shelf lowers can be easily converted so thus prohibited.
I think the law should just be 26+ inches and semi auto... Non restricted. No more easily converted BS or name restrictions.
Anything less is restricted.
Simple, easy and saves the tax payers money by not needing the firearms lab at all.
Make a full auto... Go to jail. Easy. Well never Winn the full auto argument.
Maybe a special class for them...
NFA is without a doubt attention whores.

I like the idea of "No criminal history, no restrictions."
Unfortunately, you're part of the problem. Thinking inside a prescribed box of rules. I like the idea of "No criminal history, no restrictions."
