Read the stickies in this subforum. Take a clinic. Upgrade what you want.

And, most of all, ENJOY!!!

Cheers
Jay

Just an FYI for future reference, posts on M14 pattern rifles usually go in the Main Battle Rifles forum, not the Black and Green rifles forum. You'll find that most of the M14 gurus hang out there rather than with the poodle shooter crowd here, although there are plenty that do both.

Take it our and shoot it, go to Main Battle Rifles forum and jump into the stickies as Jay said and read EVERYTHING! Lot's of knowledgeable people on here to help you! And get to a Tactical Teacher clinic in your area, or set up a 1 on 1 visit with him and learn about the platform. All worth your time and will help you tighten it up and fix any of the minor issues that it may or may not have. Most importantly Shoot the SH!T outta it and enjoy!! Welcome to CGN!!

#1 Enjoy that rifle!!!!
#2 Shoot the damned thing!!!
#3 Take one of Hungry (Tactical Teacher's) clinics
#4 Enjoy that rifle!!

Oh yeah, buy as much ammo as you can afford.

Before you buy lots of accessories, buy lots of ammunition. Guns are little machines that need to work. Besides giving the rifle a chance to get broken in, you will become more accustomed to its performance. This way you can choose what accessories your rifle really needs, versus those that people will just want to sell you.
