beretta ARX 100

I will buy one, restricted or not.
I have owned many berettas and their quality is excellent. This rifle in going to rock.

A few thoughts.

1. That's a sheet tonne of plastic.
2. What mechanics are hiding forward of the magazine well that requires all that plastic? My guess....nothing.
3. Quick barrel change mechanism, who actually needs this? Cool idea, but really, just buy another gun. It will likely cost the same. This is one more idea that makes the unit cost more, and be less accurate.
4. The pistol grip does not look like it is removable, thus not swappable with a variety of AR-15 grips. So much for customizing.
5. Is it just me, or is the bore axis and sight axis miles apart?
6. The possibility of Non Restricted status is very tempting
7. Using AR mags makes it very tempting
8. Price, yet to be determined, but if it comes in sub $2000 cdn, then it will be very tempting.
9. Since everything but the top-rail is pre-molded plastic, it will make it next to impossible to deck out with copius mag-pul farkles. <sad>

For me, it will come down to just a few selling points,

1. How expensive is it?
2. How reliable is it?
3. How accurate is it?

If the answer is somelike "sub $2000, built like a tank, and <1.5 MOA all day long" then I think we have a winner.

The MSRP in the US is $1950, so this will be much closer (if not exceeding) $3000 in NR format by the time it arrives here.

No idea, I have been searching for any info. The only thing I could find is some of the beretta sales guys saying end of 2012 in the USA. Figured I would ask here because...we'll there's no better place for gun related questions.

not for sale in the states yet. last I read it would be for sale this month some time. however beretta has dropped the ball numerous times with this release date. one was submitted with a 18.5 inch barrel to the RCMP for classification early last year. the intent is to have them classified non restricted. classification will done in about 18.6 years at the current rate they move.

I emailed Wolverine asking if they had any info and received this reply.

"We have heard no update on the availability of the Beretta ARX100 from the importer.

This item would need to have its magazines restricted to 5 round capacity for importation into Canada and may be presenting a difficulty for the importer.

Best Regards;"

I found this a bit odd as it accepts AR mags which you can already purchase in Canada pinned to 5, I am also assuming it will accept the LAR mags as well which can also already be purchased in Canada.
