Painting sites

Paint pens from craft/ auto part stores come in all kinds of colours. Go with whatever your eye sees best. The nice thing with paint pens is they can be found with a fine tip, the good ones have pretty tough paint, and they store easily in your range bag for touch ups.

+1 on the nail polish

i was gonna use the paint pens but i just happened to have some white nail polish on my gun desk from doing some inlay highlighting so i used it and it is still there, very durable.

i heard that if you want to use a different color other then white that you should put down a white base first, helps the other colors 'pop', haven't tried it myself.

I didn't have much luck with paint pens on a black site, the color didn't really stand out like I had hoped. I might try putting down the white nail polish first and see how that works.

Grab a rattle can of white spray paint and one of fluorescent orange/red...and a small modelling paint brush. 3 coats of white applied with the brush and then 2 of the orange...and you are good to go. Lasts forever and is touched up easily with another coat of orange..

I've had good luck with orange Tremclad in the spray can. Spray on a piece of cardboard, dab with a Q-tip, then apply to front sight.

I just ordered some of this stuff from Brownells. We'll see if it is any better than Tremclad.

My wife picked up a Sally Hansen "I ♥Nail Art" pen. It's usually used to draw little designs on nails, but the fine tip fits perfectly in the indentations on M&P and Remington R1 front sights. It works great and seems to be holding up so far.

ok, since nobody else will say anything... I'll be the arsehole...
site = location / website
sight= eyesight / place or something to see / sighting device

thank you.

:p

I bought a 1 ounce bottle of enamel at the Hobby store. One bottle of white and one of florescent red.

I coat of white. Then one coat of red. Without the white first, the red is flat. I apply with a piece of card stock paper, cut as a very tall triangle.
