Saw this thing posted on another forum, and you gotta wonder who would put so much time and energy into something like this. Where it was originally posted it was said to be priced at $130 at a gunshop in the states.

An inexpensive way to practice engraving. Looks a lot better than most of the "Bubba" specials. I would hate to fire it with that recess on the cheekpiece. Recoil could give you a bit of a chomp. The woodwork sort of reminds you of early European designs on muzzleloaders.

Compared to some of the "engraving" I've seen floating around on different sporters that's actually pretty impressive.

Not something your likely to catch me persuing, but it's interesting.

In general, I'm opposed to Bubba work (and especially chroming), but I'd pay $130 for that, notsomuch as a shooter, but as a conversation piece.

Inexpensive way of learning wood carving and metal work was exactly my thought too. Although I suspect the guy who did that wasn't an FNG. It say if the metal was in the white or a finish put on? Looks like cheapo chrome.

Somebody has some talent there,I wouldn't call that a "Bubba" job at all.Reminds me more of something along the lines of what some people may call folk art these days.

Looks like a former M38 or M44 ? The carving looks very detailed but it must be uncomfortable to hold while shooting for a long duration.

Saw something similar at the Olds gun sale on the weekend, but not done nearly as well. New England Westinghouse made 1891 that had a carved stock along those lines. Barrel shortened and the russian distance markings struck out.

Grizz
