Hi guys,
So I'm in the market for a 6 inches .22lr revolver. I can have a Smith 617 for 1050$ tax included or a Alfa proj all steel for 600$ all included.
What say you?

There was an Alpha on the EE just a day or so back. Check that out.

I haven't shot an Alpha rimfire so I can't really comment on them. But I'm finding that my 9mm Alpha is as accurate as a Smith in MY hands. If this holds true for the rimfire guns then you're looking at saving a LOT of money that could go towards a couple of cases of ammo.

I don't really need another rimfire revolver since I've got a lovely blued Model 17. But if I didn't have that and given my good experience with the 9mm I'd be serious about that 9 shot rimfire.

Another option, if you want to try out rimfire revolvers, is the Pietta 1873 clone 10 shooter sold by Marstar for around $500 all in. I've shot a pair of Pietta single actions for quite a few thousand rounds at both casual target shooting and in my cowboy action matches. Both have held up superbly with zero issues. The triggers are both great thanks to the burnishing in from so much shooting. But even out of the box they were pretty nice.

A K-22 or Model 17 would be a better choice than the 617. You really don't want a heavy 6" L-frame to shoot .22

the alfa gun looks cool in blued. isn't that a lot of gun though for a 22?
the one I really like myself is the Charter Arms Pathfinder in .22
