Lets see your complete 3 Gun Set-Up (Pics Please!)

Correct, but there are loopholes. Legally you can have 5 rounds of whatever length of shell the gun is chambered for. So in a 3.5" shotgun you can have 5 rounds of 3.5" shells in the tube, which conveniently fits 6 rounds of 2.75". Technically, as long as you CAN NOT fit the 6th round of 3.5" in, the gun is still legal. So I pinned the mag tube of my versamax at 5.5 rounds of 3.5". Still legal, because the 6th shell won't go in. However, 7 rounds of 2.75" fit. Plus one in the chamber and one ghost loaded, that's 9 rounds to start a stage. It's no 30 round X-rail, but it's nice.

Granted, these are my interpretations of mag limit laws.

Noob question, is an ar10a allowed in 3 gun? I've got a versamax tactical, tavor, and xcrm. And a p226!scorpion 9mm. Are these all alowed to start, other than a holster.

Equipment restrictions can vary match to match, by I've never seen any that would prevent using your AR10 at the WRAS 3-gun comps. As long as you have enough magazines for that rifle, all of your firearms are kosher.

However, I cannot imagine why you would want to be using .308 rounds. It seems incredibly expensive with much added recoil for no gain over "lighter" guns in .223/5.56.

I agree but I own a 308 Scout Rifle but no .223 . Big handicap especially with a bolt action but I think I can use my 10 round mag??? I have the stock 10 rounder and a 5 rounder. Hoping no more than a 16 round stage.

Wow! My shotgun is an Escort MPA Magnum auto. I can only get 4 2 3/4 shells in the tube. So where can I get an extension? And whats a ghost load?

Not all shotguns can be ghost loaded. Google would tell you if your specific gun can be. My extension is from Nordic components, imported through Prophet River, but I see that the ammo source makes some extensions as well.

Thanks guys. Got to try this. What would happen if you dropped 2 rounds into the chamber and then let the slide go forward? Wouldn't that do the same thing? We'll see. I see Google is my friend as far as the extension. Hoping to find one in Calgary though. U.S. prices are 30% cheaper. Then I have to wait.

How exactly would you fit two shotgun shells into the chamber?

That wouldn't work, it'll just jam. You have to hold the bolt back halfway, push one shell into the chamber, and push the second shell underneath the bolt. It's too awkward to do during a course of fire, but a good trick if you're allowed to load your gun before the buzzer goes.

Got tired of guessing if I hit steel with dinky little 55gr rounds. Don't even have to look if I hit them with 175gr Sierra Match King.

It can be done.

I have 4 10rd mags + 5 on the carrier.

And we definitely require more than 16 rounds of rifle ammo. I think we average about 20 rounds and can go as high as 30 per stage. General round count per match is 100 rounds of rifle pistol and shotgun with 5 slugs.

I can bring an m-14 with some mags if you want to stick with 308, otherwise just grab some 223 ammo and bring it to the match.

OK. Thanks. Just bought another 10 rounder giving me 26 round capacity. We are relatively new to 3 gun in Calgary and so am I, but should be a hoot. Don't really expect to be competitive but just having fun. Don't have any kind of carrier for my shotgun shells so will just wear my Clays vest with the large pockets. 308 mags in one pocket and a bunch of shot shells in the other and hope they don't put us old guys through any contortions.
