Desert Tech/Desert Tactical SRS Covert

there is alway force generated on it, it act as a skeleton which hold everything together, and the reason I dint get went with steel action is that in the long term, the aluminum could crack, while it is true that the gun is compact and easy to handle, it maybe more easy to handle than AI or Sako because is more compact and keep all the waight close to the body. as for the barrel change is nice, but is not very important to me, Changing out barrel on any gun consisted of ordering another barrel, set it up in my Garage and chamber it.

How is it going to wear out or break if it doesn't carry any of the forces generated while firing?
All the aluminum does is support the steel receiver and guide the bolt back and forth, no load, no heat.

That's why I didn't say 24" barrel, I don't really see the point of that model for the reason you state plus you loose the compactness of the package. Also I wouldn't venture in a match barrel project since I am perfectly happy with my 27" rfb douing 1.5-2" group with .50$ norinco ammo. But it would nevertheless be interesting to see someone push the accuracy of this rifle to the maximum.

Just let Caramel shoot it and groups should shrink by half ;)

get a 50 if you want to see powder problems......

what are reloads costing you?, The S&B 338L Match is just under $3 a round but it shoots good

Let's see,
90-100 grains of powder (US869)
one primer (CCI large rifle magnum)
one bullet (Berger 300gr Hybrid OTM)
re-use brass (Hornady or Lapua or S&B).....................................

about $1.70 per round assuming 10 reloads per piece of brass.

That would justify the price in a second. Awesome!

Can change out the barrels in about a min. Less with practice.

Anyhow fellas haters will hate, crĂľ, brian46 we've been true this with the rfb... the dt srs seems like a wonderful gun I hope I will own one day! I have no problems with the receiver, It's not like its a su16 polymer receiver. As long as its a metal lock up who cares that the bolt ride on a aluminum rail/receiver? ...beside gunboy lol

yea, I have to factor in time and purchase of equipment on top of that because I am that guy lol. There never seems to be a shortage of people to sell 338 brass to though so that offsets store bought price.

One day I will bite the bullet and reload just no time for it now

Oh come on, you have prove a big point that I have miss, really though that the receiver is plastic and turn out I am wrong, it aluminum, You guy believe is a different animal(light compact, barrel change) they why is your choice, and I have mine, doesn't mean that down the road I won't own one.

It's not my cup of tea, but its a really solid system and I can see the value in it. I am super impressed that POI is the same. Would make packing rifles to the range for load testing a one case affair. I have shot CR5's and it is a change being a bullpup, but still a nice rifle.

Can change out the barrels in about a min. Less with practice.

Sport Target Canada is the other dealer on here that carry DTR, What with the TSE hater? believe is or not , is not his false.

I need to be reminded of the other place in Canada that sells DTA. I can't remember who it was and I'll never spend another dime at TSE.

Hurry up and get some time off work so I can try your Timberwolf! You're a slave to the man ;)
I hope your latest plan works out and you start getting some free time to get out shooting again soon.

We need another drive around in the bush day looking for bunnies :D

Irunguns. Just get them to import direct...

Excellent idea. Probably save me a few hundred dollars.

target sports and TSE are one in the same

If it is "not his false" why did he post a video online apologising? kind of getting off topic here but I have asked to see documentation showing which rifles (serial numbers) of those submitted to the RCMP were the ones they took issue with. No response, No documentation and No denial on his part that it was not his guns that were found to be the problem.

If the problem arms were limited to the few rifles someone else imported we would not be looking at an entire firearms line prohibition. The writing is on the wall, if you choose not to read it that is your own problem.
