there is alway force generated on it, it act as a skeleton which hold everything together, and the reason I dint get went with steel action is that in the long term, the aluminum could crack, while it is true that the gun is compact and easy to handle, it maybe more easy to handle than AI or Sako because is more compact and keep all the waight close to the body. as for the barrel change is nice, but is not very important to me, Changing out barrel on any gun consisted of ordering another barrel, set it up in my Garage and chamber it.
How is it going to wear out or break if it doesn't carry any of the forces generated while firing?
All the aluminum does is support the steel receiver and guide the bolt back and forth, no load, no heat.
