Armscor 10/22 Clone! - Ruger not happy!

Not a huge fan of Bill Ruger's political beliefs re: gun policies.

Proliferation of a low-cost version of his design?

Poetic justice....maybe.

You do know he's dead right?
Seems that poetic justice was a little late.

On another note, a really wouldn't have any interest in these RIA clones.
I like Ruger's products, and would rather spend a little more money on better quality, and a company I like.

This suit will fail for the same reasons Colt can't sue anyone for all tha AR clones.

Trademark infringement is a different animal.
The US treat trademarks differently than most nations.
Armscor can make a 10/22 knock off without fear.
However, they have to tread very lightly about use of the 10/22 name or any other style or brand trademarks Ruger may have protected.

You'll note that many of the accessories for the 10/22 use a disclaimer in the packaging or ads to disassociate Ruger from their product.

Well, Ruger was able to get AMT to stop production of their 10/22 and MK2 knockout...

Personally, I'd buy one if they were significantly cheaper and accepted ALL aftermarket parts. But for the $30-$40 price difference, I'll stick with the Ruger.

Friend of mine bought a basic Ruger carbine brand new not long ago to put into a fancy chassis. I was disappointed in how poor it was compared with the decades old one I bought used many years ago, from the poorly milled front sight dovetail to the ugly wood stock and plastic parts.

My stock has a few dings in it and I was going to offer to buy his, but mine still looks far better.

I think some folk too blindly associate "Proudly Made In America" with Unquestionable Quality. :(

Or perhaps that is simple jingoism..

I'd never trade off my old Mk-II pistol either, and not just because it was my first handgun, arriving one Christmas from Santa many many years ago.
