Regardless of the society we live in,that is just plain stupid... they should have put all that crap on the underside of the barrel. WINCHESTER & CALIBER ONLY on top... I agree with the OP that is ugly and irritating.


yeah, and so is Kathleen Wynne - but then, I'd like to put her under a barrel - and toss it over Niagara Falls.
Wordiness aside at least it's probably a better built Winchester then what Winchester USA could build themselves.
i find it amusing that your gripe is with the manufacturer, not the olin corporation who owns the winchester trademarks, or with browning that has the licensing agreement to make the rifles, both of whom are probably the ones responsible for green-lighting the design and ie, the roll marks on the rifle. Made in japan probably has to be stamped on there somewhere, there’s no getting around that, the rest was probably done on request of olin, browning or baco inc.
The auto industry do mark their cars in the same way, but cars are a bigger, so you don't notice them as much. Something tells me you're just bitter about the idea of making an iconic american rifle, quite possibly better than they were ever made in the us.
