9mm Unique powder and Lee TL356-124-2R cast bullets

I have been able to get my hands on some Unique, and have cast bullets from the Lee 2-Cavity Bullet Mold TL356-124-2R. I have been doing a lot of reading, and of course have come up with conflicting data, and am unable to find a definitive answer. (Wouldn't that be nice!) :)
Starting loads of 4.5 grains and going up to 5 grains of Unique seems to be the standard advice. I am having difficulty finding info on the OAL needed. I have settled on 1.120" as a starting point. That puts the case neck sitting just past the last cannelure, and on the last raised portion of the bullet. Here is a pic of my dummy bullet.

I would appreciate any advice re: the above.

My quick and dirty max cartridge length/bullet combination. Remove barrel and use that for your gauge with a dummy shell (no primer and powder). If the length is right, it will drop in the chamber and drop out even after you push hard on the back of the dummy round. If not, start seating it deeper until it will. Some barrels allow much longer c.o.l. and some are shorter.

+1, set up your OAL to fit your gun, then start at starting charge for powder and work your way up.
 
I guess I should mention that the max length still has to jive with the magazine length. It won't matter if the chamber takes the cartridge if it won't fit the magazine. Food for thought.

That's about right. Both Length and charge.
 
By the way, my experience is 9mm bores are oversized.
Mine are all 0.357" as opposed to 0.355"-0.356".
In this case using a cast bullet 0.356" in size will cause leading and poor accuracy.
As such, I use the Lee 125-358RF on top of 5gr of Unique.

You ought to slug the bore to find out where you're standing.
