Sks scope mount

The whole mount is QD. You need to buy the Dragunov/POSP side plate separately.

A WHOLE lot more expensive way to go, but the POSP side plate is a slick, modular system all its own, that allows you to mount any of the standard East Block style side mount systems. If you want to play around, its an option. If you look under "accessories" ar Corwin Arms, you can see a few different mount options. If you look under "optics" you'll find a range of well made scope/side-mount combos for some very good prices. If you buy the side-plate, then go with a mount/scope combo, you can put some ridiculously good optics on it for a lower overall cost.

I have the Promag one and it works great, No install instructions, but not difficult to do if you have a drill press, and a tap set. The Allen screws are a non standard size. May be made easier if you go to a bolt supply house or such and pick up a more standard thread screw so you don't have to special order in a tap and die set as I did. Other than that Its great, holds zero and have had ZERO issues :)

Does this mount leave the scope offset? Or put it over the bore? I am thinking about one of these for a Mosin.

Bought a Pro Mag. Thanks for the heads up on the bolt size issue.

If you decide to just keep the bolts that it comes with, I ordered a drill bit, and tap from Cabela's online. I think it took a week or so to get to me. Was fairly simple to install, as long as you have a drill press you are good to go. However in hindsight, I would have probably just bought the slightly smaller allen screws. Would have been cheaper in the long run. If you take the mount with you I am sure a nut/bolt supply house will find what will work for ya!

I have since replaced the SH!TTY Barska 4X fixed scope with an older Bushnell AR type 1.5X4.5 scope on low rise rings. Works WAY better !!

Offtopic, but, what kind of butt pad extension is that, and would you recommend it? I need to fix my LOP

It works good for me, adds about an inch, they also have another that adds 2" to it now that they did not have in stock when I got mine. The extra inch is great, just what the doctor ordered. And I an 6 foot 2 inches with 36 1/2 inch arms so it should work for most. Not ideal but definitely workable

To be honest, don't know 100% for sure. It would be pretty close to over the bore.

Ask in the Corwin-Arms forum. Martin will give you a straight, no BS answer.
