I recently acquired a B78 Browning in 6mm Rem it's in 99%plus, wood! metal! and bore...used VERY Little. It has varmint weight barrel, and is mounted with a Redfield 12x with Parallax adjustment on 3rd turret on left side of scope. The wood figure is gorgeous, and original, bases and rings are original Browning. Serial # 60100. The 3 figures above it are V5 T I believe...they are very small and slightly blurred. deerdr@nbcsmail.com. Respectfully. Jim. Got a magnifying glass...think prefix is W57. What have I got here?

Boy .. I have always like the look of the B78 .. the PG is very elegant and they have a unique quality. That calibre - 6mmRem - has always been interesting to me .. the scope sounds great too .. never seen a fixed (my preference) 12x Redfield with a separate turret for parallax. ... I'd happily pay .. say $400 ? (Plus delivery!) for a wonderful rifle like that .. if thats what you were asking ?

(BTW I believe that the "varmint" weight barrel you mention is just the standard Round barrel that was offered on the B78 vs the less heavy "Octagonal" barrel the standard round barrels were pretty robust
