Considering the Bushmaster ACR conversion

Even better if you could shoot them to compare. As for the HK being more solid. It is very solid but I don't know if it is any more solid that an ACR or any of the modern MSR's except the SU16. I would say it is 100% reliable. Never ever choked. I have an AR15 magwell on it just so I can get more ammo in the mag legally. Not really an issue for a DMR type rifle for someone who might be just using it for hunting. I do have .50 Beowulf mags that get me up to 16rds of 223. Just because I can. If you don't make the magwell conversion your stuck with 5rds in the HK mag, but like I said it ain't an issue for many.

Bottom line go look at each rifle and try them if you can. Then you will know what you want. In my opinion If you are going to use only 223 and your looking for the utmost in semi NR accuracy and keep the cost a bit lower then the choice is clear. SL8. Please note if your going to go blast money at the SL8 to do things like I have done (hera lower, ACR stock, AR magwell), that those things will quickly rise the cost to what the NR ACR would cost or even more. Unfortunately those items will make the ergo's better but not shoot any better.

Your not going to go wrong with either. Just don't waste your time dumping everything into trying to make an XCR accurate. There I said it. Now I duck for cover.

retail was much less if you bought them new. I hope I don't have to explain how supply and demand works.

Nope, I understand completely. No demand for a $10000 black rifle so they have to sell them cheaper. Still overpriced and still don't care.
An SL8 or an ACR with a good barrel and the right ammo will shoot a group within a 1/8 of an inch of a Swiss sniper and the money you save on the rifle will buy a heck of a lot of ammo and a nice optic.
Do I need to explain again how unimpressed I was with my Swiss Arms target model?

ya I agree I wouldn't shoot past 500 at a animal. I know how accurate I am even at longer ranges but in a hunting situation its completely different.

You guys are killing me. I guess I'll have to walk into a shop and hold them. That's usually how I decide. Like buying a puppy lol the one that licks you first LOL

A short time ago, I was where you are now. I bought a used ACR from the EE for a great price, and it is sitting at Herron Arms, waiting for a premium stainless barrel to be installed. I didn't like the accuracy that the XCRs are producing, and the SL8 stock and rail system didn't appeal to me, so that left the ACR.

If you live around Edmonton You can come out and shoot my ACR all you want. My barrel is an ultra light profile which I think is limiting accuracy a little but I can still get 1.5moa and I still have hope one of the handload combinations I have waiting for testing will perform better.
I may be able to get another guy with an SL8 to come out as well if we can all align schedules.

I had no trouble selling mine, I never even posted it for sale, someone knew I had it and got ahold of me and made an offer I could not refuse. Now that they are prohib you may be right but this was not the case when you were allowed to sell them in canada as NR.

Yea cr5 is probably referring to my SL8. If I can't make it, I have no problem loaning the rifle to cr5 for some evaluation.

I am going to take a wild guess but maybe try and order from anyone who sells Geissele products?

I hope that you didn't strain anything thinking that up.f:P:

I have been searching online, and I only came up with one dealer in Canada, and he didn't have any in stock, and didn't get back to me like he said he would.

I was hoping that someone might know of other dealers, hopefully someone that has a trigger in stock.

while I was googling for all of 3 seconds I found this interesting as it shows as in stock.........................

That is the dealer that was supposed to get back to me the next day, with an estimate of when he might be getting more triggers, but he didn't.

They always list things in stock, that aren't. Bushmaster hasn't event built that rifle yet.

Tier one armory has a good stock of geiselle triggers. Just have to bend the spring to match the stock spring profile.
