OK Just bought one, just because it was cheap and I like the tt33! Now, what have I bought? Any reviews? I just got it as an oddity but it would be good to know what to expect! Fathers day present to myself!
Thanks Bob

Yep, buy them cheap ,,, store them deep?? Ahh it just looked like fun and I have a "few" tt33!
Just thinking it has a 7'62x.25 chamber and a .22 bore, I better not mix it up with my regular tt33 orrr KAABOOM! Hopefully there is something to stop that from happening!

These are training pistols.
Cartridge carriers have been used in other designs. One way around getting the rimfire rounds to cycle through a relatively unaltered firearm. There was a .22lr conversion for the Browning machinegun that used carriers.
For the price, I couldn't resist. Have some carriers left over from when I had my business, and sold these pistols.
Not a good idea to shoot them in long grass.

Congrats on the purchase...I hope you have fun with it but as a newb to the sport I have to say I just don't get the appeal of these. The whole insert thing sounds like a lot of hassle.. Am I missing something? Why not just buy a $179.00 Tok in the regular calibre?

The 22 tok tt33 are a nice collectors piece for those who collect tt33s, they shoot ok just sometimes the brass gets stuck in the insert. Its the exact same breal down as a tt33 as well. Just a lighter recoil spring. Slide is lighter too so dont try and swap barrels. The frame is pretty much the exact same as my russian tok. My dads had his for years. I just ordered one from sfrc as well.

Can someone please describe the whole premise behind "inserts"?
- What are they?
- How many do you need?
- are they easily to lose?

Oh, OK ...so as a curiousity or as part of a collection?

I was going to pull the trigger but I assumed the inserts will be hard to find and the ones that come with it are apparently useless as they "need hand fitting" which would be why they are so cheap.

also can someone explain what this means?:
"The 8 inserts that come with this firearm will be need to be hand fitted to the gun as they are slightly over sized. "
hand fitted= sanding down insert until it fits?

Yes, the ends need to be rounded off.

Anyone have a line on the inserts? Someone mentioned there is someone on here who sells 'em.

Because one of our sponsors has them on for $99.

Yep as said it is an oddity, I just ordered a second, for parts and an extra set of inserts, just in case the extra inserts come in at a high price! One a shooter one a keeper!
OK, first ones to get theirs, please let us know how they look and work, pics if possible!

X2 on where to buy additional inserts if anyone knows and is willing to share the love.
SFRC said they will be getting more inserts towards the end of summer, not sure how much!
Does anyone know how to put the pics I found a couple posts up on this thread?!? They are really good pics and explain a lot!
