It doesn't matter if it fits AR pistols if the PMAG in question is not specifically labelled as a pistol mag (and I'm pretty sure it isn't) it's either prohibited or pinned. If there were legal 10-round PMAGs at $25 I'd buy a bunch.
name of store please so that we can all jump on this opportunity and buy all those mags?
10 rounders aren't prohibited as they can be used in pistols. Not legal to hunt with but for an AR at the range (only place you can use an AR anyway) they are perfectly fine.
Wrong. Not all ar15 magazines can have 10 rounds. Only the magazines designed for the pistols. The pmags are not.
Unless it says "LAR15 pistol". Or "XCR pistol" or something like that it has to be pinned to 5
I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Prohibited device.
No.
NO.
NO!
It matters what it was designed to be used in. Pmags were designed as rifle magazines, so they are rifle magazines and have a 5 round limit. Pistol magazines have a 10 round limit. Magpul does not make any AR pistol mags.
Exactly.

Okay so I went to a local store here in Nanaimo and they have the 10 round PMAG's in stock...not pinned as they also fit AR platform pistols. But they are $25.00 and when i saw them in the US they were $15.00 so quite a bit more especially if buying any quantity of them. BTW how did my post get hijacked into a .50 Beowulf discussion???
If anyone knows of a CGN sponsor that sells the 10 round PMAG let me know.
AHHH!!! I will have to check the package then when I stop in there next...maybe it is pinned and I didn't see that? Or possibly it states for LAR/XCR on the package?
Thanks for parroting what the other gentleman just said. My question was regarding why the market hasn't responded with production of .50 beowulf pistols, since there is obviously a demand for them.
And get arrested for having prohibited magazines?
He says in post #27 that he called the store and confirmed that they're pinned 5/10 PMAGs.maybe the op just saw caa 10 round mags and he thinks they are pmags... who knows... there is more to this story than meets the eye!
and how many years would anyone involved get in selling 200 prohibited mags, from the guy at the counter to the girl working the cash register to the janitor cleaning the place at night. maybe they are not prohibited? maybe the op just saw caa 10 round mags and he thinks they are pmags... who knows... there is more to this story than meets the eye!
I just called and talked to the store who had them...they are pinned to 5 rounds. It didn't state it on the package like 5/10 or anything just said 10 round; but they looked and there is a limiter rivet on the spine when they looked closer.
This is the closest thing to a 10 round Pmag that you will find in Canada: http://www.albertatacticalrifle.com/hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing/product/175-at15-10rd-pistol-mags Unfortunately they are out of stock at this time.
Yep, just a misunderstanding by the OP and the thread went off topic.
I'm sure the same nancies said precisely that before the 10 round LAR mags became available.
