Well after trying to remove my ar barrel nut with a cheap wrench and gashing open the side of my head and waiting 4 hours in the emergency room, I decided to get a quality one.

After reading the reviews I chose to get the Tapco Ar Wrench, it is made out of alloy steel and has a half moon barrel nut wrench, unlike the posts my old one has.

I found it on brownells but does anyone know of a canadian shop that has this? I would rather spend my money in canada.

Hmmm ! I don't like that Tapco tool, look slimy to me. My DPMS AR wrench combined with 24 inch breaker from Canadiantire, I took barrel nut from my Sig without moving more than 3 inch. My 5 feet 6 wife can take barrel nut off with combine tool above from her Norinco AR.

Never use torque wrench as breaker, it's designed to tight up.

Only one thing that Tapco has an edge compared to DPMS is that 3 tooth castle nut for buffer tube. Well, it's only 6 $ for a separate tool
 
While you're at it buy the Geissele reaction rod. It's the best tool you can buy for an AR besides a good barrel nut wrench. No forces are transferred to your upper when cranking on the barrel nut so no risk of damage to your upper.

Holy cr@p!!! How tight do you make your barrel nuts? 24 inch breaker bar seems very excessive.

I have no clue. I think the ship time says 1-2 months. I got an email a while back stating there was a change in delivery date and frankly I've been too busy/lazy to call them on it. I'm not in a rush to get this as I have no need to take apart my AR, but I suppose it would be a good idea to call them and ask what's going on
 
Oh man, head wounds bleed like crazy but heal up fast. Lots of blood flow to the head. I wonder how much torque was on that barrel for you to put all your weight on it? 200 ft/lbs? That would be an SOB to remove. I've never had to do it yet but I have a generic cheap AR wrench. Now you have me thinking.

My children would find me in a pool of blood.
