Ordered E2 stock from Treeline

Gentlemen;
Received confirmation email from Treeline that my stock and other goodies are on the way:dancingbanana:. As much as I have been reading, I have been unable to determine if these birch stocks need tweeking, before finishing. By that, I guess I'm asking if I will need to re-inforce the forestock with glass,( is it noodly?).

They aren't "noodly". You might want to sand it a bit more before you oil it though.
They are pre-stained and quite red coloured. You will have to do the "popsicle" stick mod and
minor inletting. I hope you ordered the Treeline E2 buttpad with the stock. You'll need it!

Woops, I neglected to add the popsicle stick trick to mine...must have got lucky when I took it out first time.
machman is right, these stocks are not flimsy at all up front, sporting lots of wood!

I just today received my front rail mount from Treeline (Randy is the man!) and it might even add stiffness to the front end.

These stocks are so comfortable in the hands, but I still need to sand and finish mine...picture of my rifle, just because I'm so proud! :)

ordered butpad, front rail and vented handguard. I tried venting my stock guard and made a dogs lunch of it. Constructed my own version of E2 6 years ago,using chuwood stock that came with rifle. Had no idea of an E2 at the time. It was an old school m16 look, but couldn't use the see-through feature as cheek weld was too high, so I belt sanded it down 1"5/8, too make it work.
I dropped it on Sunday. Major crack showed. She is now in 2 pieces on my bench. She was a good girl.
Had always planned on buying a used usgi wood stock and doing the same, once perfected. Then saw threads on the E2. Everything about the E2 is attractive. Pretty stoaked I must say

The birch e2's are SWEET. I got one of the rubber butt pads and they are great too. High quality.

Don't go anywhere near that stock with sandpaper. You won't need to.

Looks great! Are you going to try an E2-style compensator?

We'll have to agree to disagree on the subject of the need for further sanding, maybe you received a better stock than I did?
Mine is notably coarser than a recently acquired Boyds stock, so I will be doing some finishing wet sanding, 400 grit & higher
between coats of BLO.

Mine is pretty rough, needs to be sanded for sure.

I don't think I can put the money into sourcing real or replica E2 parts (folding grip/compensator) right now, let alone find them.
My idea for this rifle is short range plinker. I have the Treeline front rail, adding a vertical grip and considering installing my Pro-Mag ARMS 18 split rail knock-off and an Aimpoint.
I find this stock puts my eye noticeably lower, took some getting used to.

Part of me feels bad doing this instead of striving to replicate the real E2, but I think it could end up being a really fun rifle to shoot at <100m.
 
Might be able to reach out farther, get some National Match sights, last Gun Test report had it out shoot scoped Armalite(i think that was the maker)...I put a rangefinder Burris on mine for the heck of it...Grizzly is at 650 yards..
