Steel pin cleaning media question

Nice,clear pic's of the primer pocket's please.

I stopped de-priming before tumbling long time ago, saw no difference. I only load pistol calibers though.

Next time I tumble, I will toss in a bunch of de-primed brass & snap some pictures. IIRC pockets came out OK - not 'squeaky clean' but OK.

I thought it helps to keep the case as clean as possible for the other stages of loading

I never have any stuck pins, and I also never deprime pistol brass, that's why I have a progressive press

I read somewhere that any pins that stick in a case body should be discarded. Might me to eleminate a 'trouble maker' pin that always sticks?
I've never had pins stick in the body, but once a flash hole had three stuck in it. Was easy to clear, impossible to miss.

Does stainless media clean the primer pocket better than regular walnut or corn cob? My media is pretty fine, easily fits in the pocket but they still come out dirtier than the rest of the case, by far. Never thought much about it but it sure would be nice not to have to clean then all by band

Yep- deprime your cases, tumble, and primer pockets are squeaky clean, just as shiny as the rest of the brass.

I never understood people's fascination with pins. I use round 0.025" sand-blasting stainless media. Cleans perfectly, no gouging, and no stuck pins. Available from any industrial supplier.

I take it you simply remove the cases by hand from the tumbler? I imagine those tiny media would be difficult to strain out.

Toss out perfectly good pins? That's crazy talk. You'll get the odd case with pins stuck 'cause the flash hole might be just slightly large enough for two pins to get stuck in there. I remove each brass after tumbling so I can do a very quick visually inspection of my brass looking for any damaged or split cases.
