kel-tec SU-16 or T97 ????

I don't hear any stories of the T97's receiver cracking or shattering, so I would go T97.

Keltec has a nice concept, but the materials used are GARBAGE as its track record of breaking has shown.

WOW, Thanks Astute ! that's a pretty good review. That should almost get a sticky. You covered both rifles very honestly and indepth.

kel-tec SU-16 or T97 ???
Both-223 cal
both-semi auto

Both light easy to carry
SU- $799 t97 $1049 "$250" price difference.
SU- can dress it up like an AR. T97...Uhmmm??
I'm going to buy ONE of these 2 rifles. I have already owned - Just right Carbine 9mm &45 cal. Also,.. High Point 45 cal Carbine.
What do you think and why ??? What would you pick ?
In the end its all cool your shooting and having fun, debate, spend, ask for advice, its all part of the game you will not find any gun in any calibre that will give you the ultimate high so enjoy them all IMHO

I hunted coyotes for one winter season with a Kel-Tec SU-16. I had the AR butt stock mod as well as the compact forend. The rifle was alot of fun and held up to shooting in frigid temps. I handled the T-97 and if you like a compact gun I think its more solid, actually has some metal. Get what fits and feels best.

I went T-97
I liked the feel of it, ..much better built. Thanks to all for giving their opinions and knowledge. You guys really helped !!

After reading your post on them cracking and breaking , I will never shoot one. That's suicide. I cant believe Keltec knows about this and still hasn't recalled these "hand grenades"!! Your right, Garbage.

The T97 is simple to use, disassemble, clean. It's among the more reliable semi-autos, but does not meet the "I'll bet my life on it" type of reliability. It lacks ergonomics, lacks loadout options, has a balance that changes depending on the mag (loaded or missing), and is about as precise as an AK compared to an AR.
