High Standard AR-15?

What do you you actually know about it?

As I said, I'd like to hear from members who have had real "hands-on" experience with this rifle. I'm not the least bit interested in comments from people who have formed their opinions from second hand experience, e.g. seeing a picture of one, or parroting what some other guy said about it. If you've not actually fired this rifle, your opinion is invalid.
Sorry if I've offended some posters, but flippant remarks are not helpful here.

As I posted just check with the store or Call trigger wholesale and ask for the spec sheet.
We sold about 20 of them last year, the mil spec ones were good for the price , the non milspec. May as well just buy a dpms or nea.
 
I have handled exactly 2 of them. (field stripped, cleaned and reassembled.)Had side by side comparisons with a Smith & Wesson, Stag and a DPMS.

Tolerances were tight, finish was clean and consistent. BCG was machined and finished nicely. Like BBB says, HS does OEM parts for many AR15 builders....

I checked in at my LGS today--nothing yet, they're still awaiting receipt of a shipment.

I'm pretty much 100% sure you're wrong about this... Bet you Donuts to Apples that the bolt carrier isn't a full round...

The ones I handled were C158 bolts, 8620 carriers, chrome lined, FA carriers, with crane O rings on stiff extractor inserts. Batch MP tested, like stag....
U owe me some doughnuts ;)
 
BTW, if there is a non mil spec version, they weren't the ones I handled.

And about mil spec, talking about tolerances and materials..... no civilian AR is entirely mil spec if you think about it.
 
Nobody is saying they are bad or pieces of ####.... Good entry level AR, and priced as such. Give one a go if it tickles your ####....

When you say "entry level", I hope you don't mean some "toy" that I'll soon 'grow out of', or some DIY project that I have to
completely rebuild before it will perform properly.

In this context, "entry level" to me means it's a good starting point-a solid platform that I can build upon to suit my individual tastes/needs.
At this point I'm not looking for 'bling' or pogie rails and such--just the best barrel, bolt, and receiver I can afford in an overall package that I
can upgrade the rest if I really need to, or add acc as I see fit. If I start out with a rifle that's poorly made through and through, then
there's no point in tricking it out--the only thing for it would be to sell it and start over with a good, solid platform.
I only want to "start" this project once.

Is the High Standard the basic platform I want to begin on?
