I have had my glock 17 gen 4 for also 6 months..only shot bernaul steel case fmj non corrosive ammo out of it. Yesterday at the range my friend was shooting a norinco 1911 in 9mm using pmc. I was also using kci mags..my pistol was about 200 rounds deep at this point. I've also noticed a few light primer strikes. Is my glock crap? Ammo problem? Kci mag problem? Input?

Lose the KCI mags, and firm up your wrist... Limp wristing will cause light primer strikes and FTF with a Glock because you are absorbing too much recoil with the rearward motion. This is from my experience, anyhow.

brownell, lone wolf they both ship, also amazon.com has some and not itar regulated as its not significant military equipment and does not exceed 500 dollars.

and while your at it get some competition spring kit from lone wolf to ease that trigger a bit and a 3.5 pound trigger bar. it can be 1 click away at lone wolf, ps dont try and get a barrel as you are canadian and you may not have access to them lol.

forget what i said and stop using barnoul russina crap lol buy some sellier and bellot or american eagle, winchester white box is also good.

I have G17 gen 4 for also about half year and had never had any issue, nor FTE, nor FTF. I use only Glock factory mags, no KCI, since I read they cause a lot of problems. My ammo are Wolf reloaded and TulAmmo steel cased. I would't rush to buy new recoil spring, just stick to factory mags and work on how you hold the gun as previous guys pointed.

I have almost exclusively used aluminum cased Blazer (with the exception of a few hundred rounds of Winchester White Box) in my Gen 4 and I haven't experienced any problems. It's worked great for me and is fairly cheap. Try different ammo.

I suggest that you grip the pistol firmly. Remember that you are part of the system when firing a semi auto pistol. If you don't do your part by holding the frame in place, the slide cannot act against it and you will certainly have failures.

You don't need a new recoil spring unless it was one of the very early Gen 4's. Seeing as you have only had it for six months, it's not one of them unless you bought used. Skip all the parts and solve it the old fashioned way - practice.

At best, try all of the suggestions systematically to determine what the issue is... Start by changing your grip and firming up. Then move on to the ammo. Last thing to do is dump money in to a recoil spring. If you try everything and it's still an issue, try to borrow a recoil spring from someone before committing to buy the part (and make sure it's installed correctly)... It's not likely the issue.

Forget about it guys, we're all women for shooting Glocks. Melt them down and let's go buy some "Manly" guns.

Seriously, quit posting this garbage. If you have a problem with Glock, write them an angry letter or something. Let the rest of us try to help this guy.
