AR15 selection advice.

A good rail will run you a little under half your budget, and that's the rail only.

What do you want exactly, and what are your needs? Are you 100% positive you need a rail?

Pretty sure he means an AR with no carry handle. One with a railed receiver.

General range plinker is what im looking for. I dont expect a tack driver on a 1000$ budget. Dosnt have to be a monolithic rail. Just enough space to mount a 3x red dot scope or something similar. Although if it did come with a carry handle that is always a bonus.
 
Buy what you can afford and what will get you out shooting!

Having said that, I would recommend you save for a while longer and get yourself a Stag; or a while longer still and get yourself a Daniel Defense.

Lever Arms has Norcs with 20" barrels, 1:9 twist, removable carry handle and collapsible stock for $699. Otherwise I'd check out IRunGuns and see what's happening there.
