Hello

First time post, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section. I have an AG42B that I'm looking to complete, I did have a magazine for it at one point but got lost in the move. I know they were only issued with one magazine per rifle so chances of finding one are scarce but I'm hoping! Are the magazines for the Hakim easier to find? The bayonet would be the icing on the cake. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Good luck finding a Ljungman or Hakim mag, especially one under $150. Bayonets are a lot easier to find than mags, I know it is too late now but with rifles like the Ljungman you should never store the rifle with out the mag in it, you don't even need to remove the mag to load it, it is very easy to get 5 round stripper clips and load with those. About the only reason to remove the mag is to strip and clean the rifle.

Note that the 1896 bayonet fits both the 38 rifle and the AG 42, which is nice since they aren't terribly rare. Trip to any decent gun show should get you one. ;)

Been using an AG bayonet as a letter opener for 30 some years. They're not terribly hard to come by. They're made out of really high grade SS.
Mags are close to impossible and are expensive. Gunparts listed 'em at $80.60 US each. Sold out and prohibited here anyway. Try Western Gun Parts.
A Hakim mag would have the wrong follower.

Not looking to contradict Sunray but, a Hakim Mag will work, I had both rifles.

The blade on the bayonet is not Stainless Steel (SS), it is polished regular Swedish steel with a high copper content left in the white. The reason they mostly seem like SS is because the of copper content in the steel helps them resist rust better than common carbon steel and because they were looked after well in storage and use. I have seen them rusted like regular steel blades.

Two different calibers and case diameters ? Got both, I'll have to check. ;)

Yeah, one is 55mm in case length with a 2mm longer standard military bullet and the other 57mm with a 2mm shorter bullet plus one is .480 in diameter and the other .473!

Hakim feed ribs are quite a bit longer and the space between is smaller.
