It is too hard to collect information about where to hunt and the hunting guide service during the season. but I think those camps, farms and guides are worried too since people may not know they are out there.

since we have "Business and Industry Members Forums" section here, i think it may be a good idea to add a "hunting resources & guides" under this section. I believe the business will run hot in there.

There are lot's of places to find this information.

Your not looking and not asking.

Also you should be doing the searching and land scouting during the off season.

my problem is" there are lot's of places to find" but buried in thousands of other information -- like here.
For example, last year when i searched " goose/duck hunting southern Ontario", what I got were just few far away commercial hunting cabins while I read lots of people hunt nearby farms. just didn't know how to find them. I would like to pay for a good hunting farm or woodland around GTA. If you can point out some places where I can find more resources, that will be more that great to me.

I would recommend a good hunting site like Ontario Outdoors forum. The guy's on there will definitely find you a outfitter for Southern Ontario. In the fall I see them list all the time in Kijiji. a quick search and I already found one outfitter in Southern Ontario.

I live near Ottawa so I can't help you for locations but I can point you in the right directions. When looking for private land I just go right up to farm houses and ask sure you'll get rejections probably lot's the best way to find hunting land is boots on the ground.

You've heard of networking for jobs well you also need to network for hunting. OOD is a great place to find other hunters.

I would also suggest purchasing a copy of Backroad Maps for the areas your interested. Than I use a combination of maps and Google earth and the Maps to locate potential Crown land areas to begin Scouting. I don't have to Scout out as many new areas now as I have access to more land than I even use (about 1000 ac) plus crown.

A quick search and I found one place in less than 20 seconds for waterfowl hunting in Southern Ontario http://www.greybruceoutfitters.com/.

Depends on the area. Obviously the closer to a city you are the harder to tell and the more likely it is private. The backroad Maps gives a good indication the farther away fro a city you are. Most but not all land in the bush (not the country side) is crown.

I camp mostly in the Bissett Creek area which is probably 95% crown with a few hunting camps that got crown leases. as I said the farther north the more crown. Even around the rural areas there is crown I know some that most people don't know of.

I went to a map store years ago and pick up maps of all the rural areas around Ottawa.

In the end it all requires research and sometimes tips from people like me. I'm not going to tell people exactly where I go but will give General areas.

I use to also camp up around Griffith Ontario at a place called Quacken Bush good place you will find it in the Backroad Maps of Eastern Ontario.

One thing I always do is carry lot's of maps, some seem to show different roads. I drive a 4x4 and I'm not afraid to scratch it. :). I carry a hand held GPS, Car GPS, Backroad maps and review Google earth for hours when I set off for a new area to explore.

In fact just heading out tomorrow to explore a area 100 km North of Sturgeon falls to camp and fish over to Capreole and finally to Espanola in 7 day's. Minda ya I'm not Scouting this area for hunting just fishing and camping but you never know maybe Moose someday. Long weekend I will be back up at Bissett Creek.

Last but not least I'm you want to get tips on hunting Ontario Out of Door Forum. You'll see me there.

(Mods I hope I didn't break any rules say the name of the site)

How do you find out what is crown land and what is privately owned?

Really? I googled "goose/duck hunting southern Ontario" which is what you searched and it pulled up a couple outfitters websites.

I think the problem with having that type of section up is that its a conflict of interest with the rest of the advertising here.
