I have a beautiful old FN Browning that was re-barreled with (supposedly) a Shilen varmint barrel in 6mm Rem and glass bedded. Picked it up from Guncraft in NE Calgary in the early 80's. The only markings on the barrel are the caliber and the initials C.K.S. on the opposite side.

Anybody know who C.K.S. is or was?

Colonel Harland 'Kentucky' Saunders was a well known gunsmith whose specialty with firearms resulted in putting many a chicken in a bucket! (sorry, I couldn't resist :)

Carey Stricker?

I just remembered that name a few minutes ago and came here to post it... My memory of Cliff is that he did quite reasonable engraving, was a large fellow who would break open a half a dozen chocolate bars and open a very large Pepsi to start off the morning... He was at the first Guncraft (on the east side of the street just down from where they eventually ended up) where the floor lifted from test firing into the crawl space... Gases must have built up and eventually one discharge set it off with a hell of a thump.
