Price check on minty milsurp please

Just to note, no where does it say unissued, it says " As close to unfired or unissued as you are likely to find". Beautiful rifle though, I would pay up to $1000.00 for it.

Read it again and it does say unissued:

Price check on unissued milsurp please

as the title says....looking for info on value of a rifle that is definitely unissued and from what it appears, quite possibly unfired.
all numbers matching including the mag.

Smokeater40 is just quoting from reading the tag in the picture.

Can we all just agree it is issued and of course fired (proofed) but is in excellent condition with little to no military use other than sitting in a rack or box most of it's life!

I also wish that people would realize that when some people say "unfired and un-issued" that they mean not fired besides proof/factory sighting in and not issued out of military stock to a soldier. It is pointless to get hung up on the literal quotes of some OP's.

X2 - I'd be concerned about the veracity of those claims regardless of their definition.

"Excellent, original condition" I'm comfortable with.

Buy the gun, not the story.

That's correct I just purchased the rifle, I've been looking for a nice Longbranch for a long time and this one looked too good to pass up.

I handled and inspected it and must say that it is in excellent condition and I think you did very well!

Bore, muzzle, feed ramp and bolt face are like new with no signs of use.

The Savage is just as nice!;)

That's good to hear, it confirms the seller's description of the rifle, did you by any chance check the number on the bolt head?

Here is one unissued:

The NZ markings indicate it was accepted into NZ service, it does not mean it was issued to a individual it could well be unissued, there are plenty of such rifles in NZ both with & without NZ markings we never fully adopted the No4, nearly all the No4s we have were given us post war as reparation & many remained in their crates until sold off as surplus.

I have one of these. When I bought it about 40+ years ago it in Peterborough it was new in the grease and wrap. It has NZ stamped on the butt and is a two groove.
