My 10.5" civy AR works perfectly. Never had any issues. I run it with a FA bolt carrier group and it works even better ( felt recoil, smothness etc... ) .
I understand statistics and physics about the 10.3/10.5" set ups. But think about it... Is anyone in here is pushing is semi-auto AR to that limit of failure? I tried mine on a Full auto C7 lower at work. Other then coming ridiculously hot to the point that gloves where not optional it still worked fine. It worked that day. Would it work all the time. Maybe not. But hey. I had fun and that is all what matters.
I know for a fact that many SOF guys go for the 11.5". Some 10.3-5" . I saw it with my own eyes. I was opfor for them. ( I had that terrible AK looking modified C8 simunition thing )

I asked. They did not have much to say about the subject. Like everyone else reads on the internet. They heard it's more reliable. But never experienced any major issues witj the 10.3-5".
So for the rest of the us I figure it is up to what you like better. The 10.5" I have does snap a little more but I prefer it to the 11.5" Not sure why. It;s just the way it feels in my hands and the balance of it.
Cheers.
